Luskentyre beach print

Luskentyre Beach, Harris: limited edition (one of 50) giclee print. Image size is 8inch / 20x20cm.

Luskentyre has to be one of the most beautiful beaches in the world! I started this picture years ago, after a week on Taransay for the fiddle camp. I finally made it back to Luskentyre last summer when we had a week on Lewis. I was determined to show my son Corran the sand spit he’s indirectly named after, Corran Raa, which runs out from Taransay back towards Luskentyre beach. He’s thus named because I was working on artwork for the band of the same name two days before he was born and we hadn’t chosen a name yet. Raa was rejected on the grounds he probably wasn’t the sun god, but a quick google told us that Corran was a legitimate name, Irish for spear bearer. His middle name has an even dafter story, poor lad!

There are currently two versions of this print because I couldn’t decide whether to include the gull or not. As a result, I have a test print of each, so you can choose! Feedback welcome as to which works better!

Description

Please note, this image is a mock-up because I haven’t worked out how to photograph glass! Your print will be numbered, titled and signed on the print and on the mount.

The close-up of a frame is to show one of the styles I like for the bespoke framing, which is done by Janine at Roo Art in Haddington. The other style is white. My basic frames are white wood with glass.

The images on this site are RGB, so your print will differ slightly due to screen calibration and colour mode.

Gift wrapping can be added at the cart. I use coloured kraft paper and paper ribbon (entirely recyclable). I’ll also write your message in one of my greetings cards.

Local collection: if you opt for Haddington pick-up in the shipping options, I’ll email you the address.
