Baillie Gifford, Edinburgh International Children’s Book Festival

Book festival illustration: Baillie Gifford asked me to create a set of illustrations showing Edinburgh and its wildlife for the Children’s Book Festival in Edinburgh. The images appeared in large format around Charlotte Square, as well as in adverts and on merchandise.

This illustration of Salisbury Crags was on two metre tall panels, divided into five sections, and used to create a reading area (see below).

I was also asked to create an image of a cobbled Edinburgh street with my fox in it (which they had seen in its previous life, running around in the snow at North Berwick Law), so I chose the beautifully curved Circus Lane.

The third illustration was of Portobello’s beautiful beach with gull, oyster catcher and starfish.

I’ve created versions of these as prints, which are available in my shop. The Crags is a 30x40cm image, and Stockbridge is a square. The portobello image is available as a greetings card. I’ve also made a set of Edinburgh & Firth of Forth coasters which includes all three.
