Baillie Gifford asked me to create three illustrations for the 2018 Children’s Book Festival in Edinburgh. They appeared in large format around Charlotte Square, as well as in adverts, book tokens, book marks and such like.
Peaceful Portobello with oyster catcher, gull and starfish.
I was asked to put my fox (who has previously run in front of a snowy North Berwick Law, and through wintry birch trees) on a cobbled street, so I chose a mews in Stockbridge.
The crags are one of my favourite places in Edinburgh so I was delighted that this was one of the scenes Baillie Gifford had in mind. They asked for a focus on nature, so I used summery gorse to allow some wildlife in the foreground.
